A native of Los Angeles, Ronn was originally attracted to the rock-and-roll music field. At eleven he started learning drums, electric bass, and guitar. Ronn was a recognized talent on the Los Angeles music scene before he was old enough to drink in the establishments in which he performed. In 1976, he joined three fellow musicians to form the musical group, Player. Music impresario Robert Stigwood signed them up for his RSO Records, where they produced the albums Player and Danger Zone. Later, with the Casablanca Records label, they produced the album Room With a View. Following the release of these albums, the group toured with such groups as Gino Vanelli, Boz Scaggs, Eric Clapton, Heart, and The Little River Band. In the first three weeks of 1978, their single, "Baby Come Back", occupied the number one position on the national pop charts and Player was voted to Billboard's honour roll of the best singles artists of 1978. After leaving Player in 1981, Ronn pursued his interest in acting, studying with Charles Conrod, Chris O'Brien, Kathleen King and Peggy Feury. He was subsequently spotted by an ABC talent scout and signed up for a two year contract. Various feature films followed prior to his originating the character of Ridge in The Bold and The Beautiful. Ronn now lives in the Hollywood Hills and is married to actress Shari Shattuck, who appeared in the Steven Seagal film "On Deadly Ground" and is now starring on the CBS daytime drama, "The Young and The Restless." They have one daughter, Creason Carbo. When not in the television studio, Ronn can be found in the music studio working on the next Player album with original band member Peter Beckett.
